September 2011Β β Binalonan hosted a 2.5-kilometerΒ Fun Run for a Cause, a featured activity in line with the 111th founding anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission, September 8.
With the theme βChampioning R.A.C.E. (Responsible, Accessible, Courteous, Effective): Public Excellence at Full Speed,β around 1,300 participants from all public agencies in Eastern Pangasinan convened in front of the municipal hall grounds for three main reasons: to promote physical well-being, foster camaraderie among fellow public employees and help finance outreach as well as medical missions conducted by the local CSC Office.
Binalonan chief executive, Mayor Ramon V. Guico III in his welcome address, challenged everyone to live the precepts of the eventβs theme which is βbeing committed in delivering efficient public service.β He stressed that all public servants βshould give the best possible quality of service to the people.β
Also present in the fun race were 5th District Board Member Danny C. Uy, San Nicholas Mayor Leoncio Saldivar, Binalonan Sangguniang Bayan members headed by Vice Mayor Renato E. Legaspi, Director Rogelio del Rosario of CSC Urdaneta, DepEd Pangasinan Division II officials headed by Superintendent Viraluz S. Raguindin, and Binalonan Water District General Manager Engr. Dominador Castaneto.
The fun run had five categories, namely: Category A (20 β 35 years old); Category B (36 β 45 years old); Category C (46 β 55 years old); Category D (56 years old and above); and Category E (Heads of Agencies). The top 2 male and female runners in each category were given plaques of recognition and cash prizes.
The event was sponsored by CSC-Urdaneta Field Office and Eastern Pangasinan Council of Personnel Officers (EPCPO) in partnership with Binalonan LGU, BIWAD, DepEd Pangasinan II and Juan G. Macaraeg National High School.
