Binalonan officials led by Mayor Ramon V. Guico III , Vice-Mayor Melicio F. Patague II, OIC, MENRO, Engr. Clarissa Cabacang and Technical Assistant Richard Mel Caplis presented on Dec. 1 a paper on the solid waste management practices of the municipality during the International Conference of the Society For Human Ecology held at SEARCA-University of the Philippines Los Banos, Laguna.
The Binalonan group presented their paper entitled β Binalonan Gumagaling: A Case Study of the Solid Waste Management Practices of the Municipality of Binalonan, Pangasinan.β
One of the conference objectives was to present and share key sustainability and human ecology issues, research practices in the region and abroad. Thus, the participants were made to present a paper in relation to the conferenceβs theme β Envisioning Pathways to Just and Sustainable Futures: Celebrating Diversity, Pursuing integration and Developing Livable Communities.β
After the presentation, the group successfully tackled questions. This paved way for the municipality to be recognized and appreciated for their efforts in promoting their advocacy for solid waste management in Binalonan.
Many of the participants and officers were impressed and signified their interest to visit the town to observe how the advancement of human ecology as a discipline and practice is promoted through solid waste management.
