Binalonan, Pangasinan- The rising temperature of summer was even elevated by the scorching passion of 24 barangay teams vying to emerge as the crรจme of the crop in the 2nd Mayorโs Cup.
The inter-barangay basketball and volleyball tournament, held Apr. 28 at the Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center, convened top men and women basketball players in the town.
Leo Arnaiz, municipal sports coordinator, and Janet Disay, SB secretary, along with other municipal and barangay officials, coaches and sports officials, members of the competing teams and their muses went around the major streets of Binalonan during the parade.
In his message, Mayor Guico emphasized the importance of sports to people particularly to the youth.
Furthermore, he also informed the participants of his plan to construct football field at the University of Eastern Pangasinan grounds and aqua sports center at the South Central School.
The tournamentโs championship games will be played in the last week of May.
