The Municipality of Binalonan on Apr. 18-20 celebrated the 1st Binalonan Farmers Festival with various activities including motorcade, thanksgiving service, seminars and product promotions, booth exhibits and visitations, competition and judging of banner products, messages and fellowship night.
The festival, conducted at the Events Tent, Municipal Grounds, centered in the theme βDur-as ti Taltalon, Rang-ay ti Mannalon.β
A motorcade was held Apr. 18 around the various barangays of Binalonan which was participated in by municipal officials, employees of the Department of Agriculture of Binalonan, officers and members of farmers and irrigators cooperatives and associations, and representatives of various sponsoring private companies.
This was followed by a thanksgiving service officiated by Pastor Billy Decano and Pastor Joel Noche followed.
Binalonan Vice Mayor Melicio Patague II expressed his and Mayor Ramon Guico IIIβs support to the farmers. Thru the vice mayor, Mayor Guico and Pangasinan Governor Amado Espino III gave their financial support to the Binalonan Federation of Farmers Associations Ang Galing Inc.
Councilors Josephine Caburnay and Noel Apolinario Bautista also expressed their support to the farmers through in their inspirational messages.
During the three-day festival, various private companies of agricultural supplies and machineries conducted their seminars and productsβ promotions.
In the banner products competition, awards were given to Sangkaimasan nga Nilachan, Sangkadakkelan nga Mais, Sangkadagsenan nga Mais, Sangkaimasan nga Cassava Cake, Sangkaimasan nga Pinakbet, Sangkadakkelan nga Upa, Sangkadakkelan nga Kawitan and Drinking Basi Contest.
The festival was highlighted by a fellowship night attended by Pangasinan Governor Amado Espino III, Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlimand a representative of the Pangasinan Councilors League President Sheila Marie Perez.
Vice Mayor Patague and other municipal officials, and DA Binalonan employees headed by Municipal Agriculturist Ricardo Tabuac also attended the fellowship night.

Jay M. Layco, president of the Binalonan Federation of Farmers Associations Ang Galing Inc., spearheaded the festival.
