BINALONAN: GREEN CANOPY PROJECT

The Local Government Unit of Binalonan, in partnership with Citicore Foundation and Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation, conducted a tree planting activity in Barangay Sta. Catalina on October 16, 2024. With the guidance of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, Municipal Agriculture Office, and the Municipal Tourism and Information Office, members of the Binalonan MDRRMO, PNP, and BFP and representatives from the WCC Aeronautical and Technological College Binalonan Campus Community Extension and Services Office and College of Aeronautical Engineering, University of Eastern Pangasinan College of Business Administration, and College of Accounting, planted 250 fruit bearing trees provided by the Province of Pangasinan Provincial Agriculture Office.

Bago nagsimula ang pasukan ng ating mga estudyante para sa S.Y. 2024-2025, pinangunahan ni Mayor Ramon RG Guico IV at ng mga lokal na opisyales ng bayan ng Binalonan ang inauguration at blessing ng bagong 3-story 6 classroom school building sa South Central School para sa mga mag-aaral ng Binalonan.

Muling kinilala ng LGU Binalonan ang ilan sa ating mga centenarian mula sa iba’t-ibang barangay ng Binalonan. Ang mga centenarians na nakatanggap ng pagkilala ay sina lolo Adriano Layos Fajardo mula Barangay Cili na isinilang noong March 7, 1924, lola Basilisa Tumacder Biado na isinilang noong April 15, 1924 at lola Basilia Guico Siador na isinilang noong June 14, 1924, at nagmula sa Barangay Sta. Catalina.

Bilang pakikiisa sa selebrasyon ng National Disability Rights Week, ang Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Binalonan sa pangunguna ni Mayor Ramon RG Guico IV at ng MSWDO, ay nagsagawa ng outreach program sa pamamagitan ng school supply distribution para sa Children with Disabilities (CWD) and Person with Disabilities (PWD) na may temang “Gamit pang-Eskwela Alay sa CWDng Mag-aaral”.

Tourism

Considered to be the gateway of different tourist attractions in the north, Binalonan has always just been part of the journey of tourists driving their ways to either Manaoag, Baguio, La Union, etc. The municipality may not have been blessed with natural attractions such as beaches, lakes, or mountains, this small town in the north of Luzon, together with the Binalonians, is striving to become another tourist destination that people will surely enjoy visiting.

As of now, many tourism programs are on their way to fulfillment. However, tourists and locals alike can now enjoy visiting the newly rehabilitated parks of Binalonan as well as the others tourist attractions such as Sto. Niño Parish Church, Mount Paldingan Stations of the Cross, Binalonan Airfield/Binalonan Airport, these are to name a few.

Here are the following tourist destinations that one can visit and enjoy in Binalonan:

Sto. Niño Parish Church
This church has hundreds of years of history carved on its walls and serves as a physical manifestation of the Christian faith and social service of the town. Being a legacy of the architecture during the Spanish colonial rule, this church witnessed the unceasing faith of both the locals and tourists. (Datol 2008)
Mount Paldingan Stations of the Cross (Sta. Catalina, Binalonan)
During Lent season, this tourist site is flocking with pilgrims. On this mountain, pilgrims try to complete the 14 stations, also a manifestation of the strong faith of both locals and visitors alike. (Datol 2008)
Food Terminal
One can have a taste of Binalonian cooking by visiting the Food Terminal. The terminal offers different stalls lined up side by side and offers a handful of dishes to choose from. They have household dishes, roasted chicken and pig, snack stalls, and a lot more. When evening comes, a number of turo-turo stalls can be found in the terminal. In many countries, shopping and food tasting at a local market is a standard feature of daily life. In many places, designated market places, such as the Food Terminal, have become listed sites of historic and architectural significance and represent part of the town’s cultural assets.
Binalonan Airfield and Binalonan Airport
An 850 meters privately operated runway is open for landing of privately owned aircrafts and choppers. It is also open to visitors who want to tour the WCC ATC and to personally view the aviation students take their flights using the school’s training aircrafts.
El Pinoy Fly-In Hotel
Located within the prestigious WCC Aeronautical and Technological College and the known Binalonan Airfield/Binalonan Airport, this hotel is open for tourists and locals alike who want to stay and relax in a state-of-the-art accommodation in Binalonan. This hotel also has a pool for the residents to enjoy.

The Ruperto’s Inland Resort is situated in Barangay Linmansangan, Binalonan, Pangasinan. You can enjoy a leisurely time in this resto-resort amidst the green countryside sceneries and smooth concrete roads of Binalonan. Binalonan Festival
The said festivity is one the annual main events of the town. This vibrant festival with various activities and street performances from various elementary schools and high schools of the town highlights the arts and cultural heritage of Binalonan.
