Eighty members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of Binalonan on Aug. 16 received capital for rice retail stores from the Department of Social Welfare and Development at The Tent in Binalonan.

A total of P 800,000 was allocated to purchase 732 bags of rice (25 kilos each), rice boxes, weighing scales, scoopers and calculators. Each beneficiary received P 10,000 worth of benefits.

Thirty-eight recipients are members of Bagong Pag-asa while 42 are from Sama-sama sa Pag-unlad.

They were asked to identify the places where they would open their rice retail stores and were advised to manage their small business for it to grow.

Under the Sustainable Livelihood Program of DSWD in cooperation with LGU Binalonan, the program aims to improve the lives of the beneficiaries.

Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Marilyn Imbat told that the management of the rice retail stores would be closely monitored to ensure the success of the program.

Councilors Jerry Aradanas and Bryan Louie Balangue who assisted in the distribution told the recipients their accountability and responsibility to succeed in their rice retail business.

DSWD personnel Jose Doroteo, Roseanne Paragas and Jenny Ochoco led the distribution.
