Sept. 28- Officials of Dep Ed Pangasinan II, together with public elementary and secondary school teachers, municipal officials and employees converged at the Binalonan Municipal Hall Grounds for the World Teachers Day kick off program and color fun run.
The kick off program was attended by thousands of teachers from the 22 municipalities of Pangasinan II namely San Fabian, Mangaldan, San Jacinto, Manaoag, Laoac, Binalonan, Pozorrubio, Sison, Villasis, Sto. Tomas, Alcala, Bautista, Tayug, Rosales, Natividad, Asingan, Balungao, San Manuel, Sta. Maria, San Nicolas, San Quintin, Umingan.
Schools Division Superintendent Atty. Donato Balderas Jr. welcomed all teachers in the division . He commended all the educators for their efforts and sacrifices in educating and molding the youth for the countryโs generation.
Association of Barangay Captains Federated President Bryan Louie Balangue, who spoke in behalf of Binalonan Mayor Ramon Guico III, commended the teachers for their sacrifices in teaching the youth and their role in nation building.
Balangue also talked about the municipal governmentโs finished and on going projects more particularly the dancing fountain which will be finished by February 2019.
After the kick off program, more than 3,000 teachers participated in the 3-kilometer color fun run which started at the municipal hall grounds, proceeded to Sto. Nino until Sabatan and turned left to the highway and finished at the Juan G. Macaraeg NHS.
Medals and certificates of appreciation were awarded to the best runners in 3 age level categories: 50 years old and above, 36-49 and 21-35 for both male and female groups.
