‘Franceβs Got Talent’ winner serenades Binalonians in concert for a cause
France Got Talent 2016 3rd placer Alienette Coldfire left Binalonians in awe of her singing prowess on February 12 during a concert for a cause at the Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center.
With her soulful rendition of songs from several Broadway musicals and other songs popularized by local and foreign singers, Alienette amazed the crowd including the municipal officials and employees led by Mayor Ramon V. Guico III together with his family, balikbayans, teachers, and other guests.
Though visually-impaired, Alienette was in full force as she sang the Filipino classic “Maalala Mo Kaya,” as well as “Wind Beneath my Wings,” “Somewhere,” and “On my Own,” the soundtrack of Les Miserables, among others.
As a self-taught vocalist, the Filipina singing sensation wants her audience to look beyond his disability. According to her, βshe is a person with a clear vision, big dreams, and definite plans for the future.β
Alienette graduated with a degree in English from Central Philippine University of Iloilo.
Now 27, Coldfire, Katchry Jewel Golbin in real life, was born blind because of retinopathy of prematurity, a condition that affects the eyes of premature babies.
Like learning French, technology and social media helped her achieve her dreams, in 2014, she became an online sensation after a video of her singing βIβll Be Thereβ became viral.
The proceeds of the concert will go to Binalonan North Central School Special Education program.
