UST Journalism student crowned Miss Binalonan 2019
Amidst all the cheering and rumblings of firecrackers, a young coed representing Poblacion was crowned the new Miss Binalonan during the February 16 Coronation Night at the Binalonan Public Auditorium.
Louise Cleindale Lim Penera, 21, a Journalism student of the University of Sto. Tomas in Manila, bested the 23 candidates from the other barangays of Binalonan.
Penera, who ranked first in the pre-pageant on February 2, was also chosen Miss Photogenic.
Eighteen-year old Ralph Anne Miranda of San Pablo and who wants to be a flight attendant was first runner-up.
Second runner-up was Jenelyn Bulosan of Vacante. An Industrial Psychology graduate from Saint Louis University, Jenelyn was also awarded Best in Talent and Best in Long Gown.
Miss Jinny Yin Castillo of Moreno was third runner-up, and Miss Mangcasuy Mel Joy Francisco, 19, was fourth runner-up and awarded Best in Swimsuit.
Penera and her runners-up received certificates of recognition, cash prizes and trophies. The top 3 will have free round trip to Batanes courtesy of Mayor Ramon V. Guico III.
The top 5 were ranked according to beauty -40% and intelligence-60%.
The panel of judges included International Fashion Designer Mon Rian Fernandez, as chairman; Assistant Schools Division Superintendent of Pangasinan II, Vivian Luz Pagatpatan; former TV Host Mag Tv Atin To, and Miss Diamond of the World 2016, Miss Christine Picardal; former Miss La Union and Miss Baguio, Miss Kimberly Pechon and Mr. John Paul Burgdorf, a commercial, ramp and print ad model of ABS-CBN.
