Alumni converge for grand homecoming to achieve excellence
To achieve excellence, alumni of Juan G. Macaraeg National High School on Feb. 15 converged for their 2019 Grand Alumni Homecoming.
Organized by the JGMNHS Alumni Association Inc. and hosted by batches 1969, 1989 and 1999, the homecoming had its theme, βHomecoming 2019: Achieving Excellence Through Convergence.β
The one-day homecoming started with a Float Parade along the major streets of Binalonan and ended up at the JGMNHS campus where the alumni converged for a primitive style lunch. Before the lunch, the best table-set up was chosen.
After lunch, new set of officers for the alumni associated were elected.
In the evening, the alumni, municipal officials, administrative and teaching staff of the school, and other guests gathered at the Binalonan Public Auditorium for the Alumni Night.
Mrs. Febe Nicer, principal of JGMNHS, in her video presentation, reported the achievements of the school under her leadership. Nicer also appealed to the alumni to extend their assistance and services to the school.
Binalonan Mayor Ramon V. Guico III, the guest of honor and speaker, commended the officers of the alumni association, teachers and the alumni for organizing the event. He urged the alumni to participate in the programs and projects of the school for more progress and development.
Former Binalonan Mayor Ramon N. Guico Jr. of Batch 1972, in his speech, asked the alumniβs support for him and for the candidacy of the current mayor.
Awards were given to the group with the Best Float- Class 1987, Best Table Set-Up- Class 1990, Biggest Delegation- Class 1987, Best T-Shirt- Class 1981, Oldest Alumna- Rosario Nicer ( 90 Years Old) of Class 1948 , and male and female stars of the night were awarded to Germiniano Torres of Class 1980 and Marcelina Cuaresma of Class 1977 respectively.
JGMNHS was formerly called Binalonan High School, Binalonan Community High School, and Binalonan National High School.
