Juan Gβs SPA students stage ‘Recital 2019’
To showcase their various special talents and skills, Special Programs in the Arts (SPA) students of the Juan G. Macaraeg National High School on Feb. 12 staged Recital 2019 at the Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center.
Dubbeb βLit- Famβ (Legendary Incomparable Talents in Fostering Artistry towards Splendid Millennium), the recital was a potpourri of performances- singing, dancing, acting, playing instrument, short film showing, and reciting poetry.
Wearing their costumes and βspecially-made for the occasion outfitsβ, the student performers danced folk, ethnic, foreign, ballroom, hip hop, and modern dances.
The music major students sang solo, duet, and quartet. Their original compositions and arrangements were also featured. Those into acting played different roles in Sadulawit.
Members of the Juan Strings also performed with their bandurria and guitar.
A short film made by and featured some of the SPA students was shown at the start of the recital.
Before the recital proper, the Binalonan Promotional Video and SPA Promotional Video prepared by MAPEH teachers were shown.
The recital was watched by elementary and high school students, teachers, parents, and other visitors from Binalonan.
A display of paintings, photographs, painted pots and other art works made by SPA students were displayed at the lobby of the sports center.
It can be remembered that a pre-recital concert entitled Liwliwa was held in December 8 last year to promote culture and arts.
Recital 2019, one of the events of the Binalonan Town Fiesta and chaired by Councilor Josephine Caburnay, was spearheaded by Alfredo Nimer, head teacher VI of the MAPEH department and Anabelle Janice Soriano, SPA program coordinator of JGMNHS.
