Hundreds of health-conscious zumba enthusiasts trooped on Feb. 18 to Binalonan Municipal Grounds to โsweat it outโ in the 4th Mega Zumba dubbed โFocus on the Good 2.โ
With Zumba Zin Junnalyn Gabot of Binalonan, Dubai International All- Star Zin Alfredo Jay Bauzon, Pangasinan Zins, Zumba instructors and coaches on the stage leading, Board Member aspirant Louie Sison of Villasis and Councilor candidate Jovelyn Manaois, and the 465 participants swung and gyrated to the catchy dance music, clapped their hands, and shouted occasional โWoo!โ for gasp of excitement.
The participants included members of the different zumba groups from Binalonan, Laoac, Urdaneta, Asingan, Manaoag, San Manuel, and San Manuel. Other participants came from WCC Aeronautical and Technological College, University of Eastern Pangasinan, Math Excellence Academy of Binalonan Inc., and Holy Child Academy.
Members of Team Labuyo, and some members of Batches 1977, 1978, and 1994 of Binalonan National High School led by Mercuria โCurieโ Castaneto, Mrs. Binalonan USA 2018 also joined the event.
The 4th Mega Zumba sponsored by the Local Government Unit of Binalonan, was one of the events of this yearโs town fiesta and chaired by Councilor Dr. Josephine Caburnay and Councilor Dr. Noel Apolinario Bautista.
Zumba, which originated in Colombia in the 1990s, involves work out featuring movements of the entire body- from the arms to the shoulders and to the feet. Zumba is a work out in-disguise which gives physical and mental benefits. It tones the arms and sculpts the muscles.
