As the first art competition of its kind, the Municipality of Binalonan on Apr. 30 held Iladawam, a Community Street Chalk Art Competition at the Municipal Grounds.
As part of the 2019 Binalonan Summer Arts Festival, the chalk competition aroused curiosity among the spectators and the participants as well.
The event was participated in by local students from Binalonan and Urdaneta, and some walk-in contestants who wanted to draw and experience sketching different subjects or figures on the concrete pavement using white and colored chalks.
Winners were Dexter Miranda, a fourth year college student of Pan Pacific University of North Philippines, first place; Jericho Antenor of the University of Eastern Pangasinan was second place; John Patrick Lanuza, third; and Aldrin Baldiviano, fourth. Runners-up were Mary Carbonel and Vincent Gorospe.
The winners were awarded cash and certificates of recognition.
Binalonan Municipal Tourism Coordinator Angelica Peregrino, Technical Assistants to the Mayor Jessica Tabilin and Donabel Hazel Sabado, Veronica Sison, and Photographer Paul Dela Paz spearheaded the event.
