The three-day 2019 Binalonan Summer Arts Festival on May 4 ended with the Ground Zero Music and Arts Night at the Binalonan Dancing Fountain Grounds.
Three Baguio-based rock bands βMusic 4 Change, 8th Avenue and Pugaw Laya- with their diverse repertoires and all-out performances excited the audience.
Music 4 Change did 11 alternative reggae rock numbers including Buwan, Baguio City Rush, Paalam, and others to the delight of the audience; Pugaw Laya performed their original songs like Kadwa, and Tao sa Siyudad, while 8th Avenue with their electrifying performance, did Power of Love, Bohemian Rhapsody and four other songs.
In his message, Binalonan Mayor Ramon Guico III, an art lover himself, talked about the completed and upcoming programs and projects for the promotion of arts in the municipality of Binalonan.
Mayor Guico expressed his support to the Special Programs for the Arts of the Juan G. Macaraeg National High School by providing some musical instruments and other gadgets for the SPA students.
Before the performances of the three bands, participants to the three-day summer arts festival showcased their skills they have acquired during the workshops.
The dance workshoppers had their hip hop performances and dance sport; the music workshoppers sang A Million Dreams; and two creative writers recited their poems. Some entries in the short film making competition were shown.
JGMNHS Band and WCC Aeronautical and Technological College Band also performed during the night.
Certificates of Recognition were given to the participants, performers, winners in various competitions, and lecturers.
