In preparation for the opening of classes on June 3, 22 elementary and 6 secondary public schools in the municipality of Binalonan held the National Schools Maintenance Week, locally known as βBrigada Eskwela,β from May 20 to 25.
This annual activity was participated in by teachers, students and volunteers who contributed their time and resources to improve the condition of the facilities and surroundings in their respective schools.
In support of Brigada Eskwela, the Local Government Unit of Binalonan provided assistance in cash and kind, giving Php 5,000 for small schools and Php 7,000 for big schools.
Among the highlights of this yearβs Brigada Eskwela is to ensure that schools are safe and prepared in times of emergencies. This includes advocacy campaigns and orientation against illegal drugs, health and sanitation, and disaster resiliency.
A Medical-Dental-Opthalmology Health Wellness Program called βBantay Kalusugan sa Paaralanβ was conducted in Juan G. Macaraeg National High School ( JGMNHS) by Dr . Angelico and Dra. Princess Yuson (Pedia), Dr. Rolly Custodio (Internist) and Dr. Rondalyn B. Pantua (OB), and Dr. Alyssa Mae F. Garello, Dr. Willy Garello , Dr. Charmie G. Lacambra (Dentists).Some medicines and kits were given to teachers in the medical-dental mission.
Reading materials and other school supplies were collected for students and teachers, while school feeding was also undertaken in some schools.
A Beauty Care program through a βLibreng Gupitβ along with other livelihood skills like dishwashing liquid was demonstrated to stakeholders in Juan G. Macaraeg NHS. These activities were extended to Sumabnit National High School and Linmansangan National High School.
