Incoming Pangasinan 5th District representative Ramon V. Guico III on June 10 vowed to serve to the fullest to make his congressional district the βbestβ and βmost progressiveβ in the province.
He delivered his message during the Thanksgiving and Inaugural Ceremonies of the newly- elected municipal officials of Binalonan held at the Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center, witnessed by his supporters, government officials and employees, educators, municipal department heads and employees, barangay officials, and other guests.
He was earlier inducted into office at the House of Representatives by Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo,
βWith the huge budget that will be allotted to a congressman, we can do more projects not only in Binalonan but also in the eight towns and one city of the fifth district. Lahat ng pondo ay ibabahagi sa buong ikalimang distrito,β Guico III said.
He also acknowledged his father, incoming Binalonan Mayor Ramon N. Guico Jr. and his mother Arlyn Grace Guico for being instrumental in winning the congressional race against his seemingly formidable opponent, re-electionist Amado Espino Jr. He also thanked all his supporters and his wife Maan Tuazon Guico and their children.
Meanwhile, incoming Binalonan Mayor Guico Jr. said in his inaugural speech that βLet us forget politics. Let us unite. Lahat kayo maaasahan ninyo ang tulong mula sa munisipyo.β
Vice Mayor Melicio Patague II, now on his third term as vice mayor, assured Binalonians that βthe Sangguniang Bayan is in good handsβ under his leadership as presiding officer.
Patague also committed to work harder and expressed his gratitude to the Guicos for their help and support in his political career.
Aside from Guico Jr. and Patague II, also inducted into office by Municipal Circuit Trial Court Presiding Judge Harriet C. Cabreros were reelected Councilors, Dr. Josephine Caburnay, Dr. Noel Apolinario Bautista, Jerry Aradanas, Lorenzo Tambo and Councilors-elect Glory Jovelyn Manaois, Bryan Louie Balangue, and Atty. Ernesto Buquing.
A turn-over ceremony was done and all the LGU department heads led by MLGOO Marivic Guerrero handed vital documents to the new administration, while out-going mayor, Guico III turned-over the symbol of governance to the in-coming mayor Guico Jr.
This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and Support where all officials, employees and all government and non-government sectors affixed their signatures as a testimony of support to the new administration.
Prior to the program, a Thanksgiving Service was officiated by the Binalonan Ministers Fellowship (BMF) President, Rev. Reynaldo Morales while the final benediction was done ecumenically by Rev. Msgr. Numeriano Gabot of the Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Manuel Viloria of the Methodist Church and Rev. Morales at the end of the inaugural program.
Gracing the event were Pangasinan Vice Governor-elect Mark Ronald Lambino, Board Member βelect Nicole Louie Sison, and other municipal officials from the various towns of the fifth district of Pangasinan and Urdaneta City.
