July 1 was a red-letter day for the members of the Sangguniang Bayan of Binalonan.
With the new set of elected municipal officials, in the presence of the municipal department heads, barangay officials, school officials, heads of agencies, representatives of religious, senior citizens, business and other sectors, and some municipal employees the Sangguniang Bayan held its inaugural session at the SB Session Hall.
Mayor Ramon N. Guico Jr. in his message encouraged the new and re-installed public servants to unite asβone big familyβ in serving BInalonians.
βI hope that the members of the Sangguniang Bayan, barangay officials and municipal employees will cooperate with me to continue the progressive development of Binalonan.β
βI will support all your programs and projects,β he told the barangay and school officials.
Guico inducted into office Rodelito Alibuyog Jr. as the new president of the Liga ng mga Barangay, Fulgencio Castada Jr. and Roger A. Manuel as the new Punong Barangays of Capas and Moreno, respectively. Guico also inducted the new Barangay Kagawads of Capas and Moreno.
In its inaugural session, with Vice Mayor Melicio Patague II as the presiding officer, the Sangguniang Bayan had the following agenda: Adoption of the Internal Rules and Procedures, Committee Chairmanship, District Assignments, Schedule of Officer of the Day, and Designation of Majority and Minority Leaders.
Patague, together with the eight councilors, ABC and Federated SK President, also gave their inaugural speeches during the privilege hour.
βI am pleased to lead you. Salamat ti napintas nga panagkakadwa tayo,β Patague told the SB members.
Addressing the school heads, Patague said,βPlease give us the chance to talk to your parents during school activities, programs and closing exercises for us to express our thanks.β
βWe will give special attention to the senior citizens. Dayta ti bilin ni Congressman,β the vice mayor emphasized. He mentioned that a new vehicle for the senior citizens will be out soon.
He added, β We are not afraid to investigate wrongdoings and we will not tolerate abusive acts and conducts. Help us in our work.β
