Binalonan Mayor Ramon N. Guico, Jr. gave pieces of advice for longer life to senior citizens during the mass oath taking of officers of the Federation of Senior Citizens of Binalonan (FSCAB) and Barangay Senior Citizens Officers held on July 10 at the Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center.
βGo for medical check up. Do not forget your medications as prescribed by your doctor,β said Mayor Guico. βDo or join activities that will keep you fit and healthy.β
βDo not abuse yourself,β he added.
Guico said in jest, βSaan kayon nga magmagna nga makipamunpon. Magna kayo ti nagadayo, no ag-high blood kayo, agpaospital kayo wenno sikayon ti sumaruno. Bisitaen yo laengen dyay natay. β
It is a practice among senior citizens to join funeral procession when a member dies.
Guico also informed that the vehicle the senior citizens have requested from the Office of the Mayor in 2018 will be given by the month of August.
A senior citizen himself, Guico said, βI support the senior citizens. My office is open to your suggestions.β
Former Binalonan Mayor, now Congressman of the 5th district of Pangasinan, Ramon Guico III, also gave his message and talked about his plan for Binalonan in 2020- flood control project in Tagamusing River and construction of drainage canals along McKinley and Mendoza streets.
Guico inducted into office Benedicto Tomboc as FSCAB president, Virgilio Reyes as vice president, Romeo Sarceda as secretary, Carlita Aradanas, assistant seretary ,Francisca Dela Cruz as treasurer and Cristina Asuncion as assistant secretary.
He also inducted the, auditors, public relations officers, business managers, sergeants-at-arms, and the board of directors.
The barangay officers- vice presidents down to the sergeants-at-arms and board of directors had their mass induction.
Messages from the eight municipal councilors, Liga ng mga Barangay president, and Federated SK president were given.
Vice Mayor Melicio Patague II, who is currently in the US, was represented by Councilor Glory Jovelyn Manaois, the acting vice mayor.
