The Municipality of Binalonan produced the highest number of passers in the 2018 Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency Test conducted on February 24, 2019 at Juan G. Macaraeg National High School and Tayug National High School.
In the entire Pangasinan II, 30 out of 135 takers or 22.22% passed the test in the elementary level; 983 out of 3, 098 takers or 31.73% passed the test in the high school level.
Binalonan I and Binalonan II have 236 passers making Binalonan the municipality with the most number of passers in the entire division for the third time.
In the district category, Binalonan II is first with 149 passers; Binalonan I is second with 87 passers, and Laoac is third with 58 passers.
In the individual category, District ALS Coordinator Shirley Laroya of Binalonan II is number 1 with 120 passers. Mobile Teacher Ma. Teresa Libao of Binalonan I is second with 54 passers; DALSC Joselito Nunez of Binalonan I is fourth with 33 passers and Mobile Teacher Romeo Arcangel of Binalonan II is sixth with 29 passers.
Awarding of certificates to the top performing Mobile Teachers, District ALS Coordinators, municipal officials and passers will be on July 30 at the Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center.
The ALS Accreditation and Equivalency Test is βdesigned to measure the competencies of those who have neither attended nor finished elementary or secondary school in the formal school system.β
Passers of the test are given a certificate or diploma and they are qualified to enrol in secondary or post-secondary schools.
