The Local Government Unit of Binalonan thru the Department of Agriculture Binalonan and the Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center Region I on July 23 conducted a training on mushroom production and launched it as a livelihood project at Barangay Santiago, Binalonan.
Concordia S. Lee, In-charge of Mushroom Project of the Provincial Agriculture Office in Sta. Barbara, did the lecture on mushroom production, while Mark D. Lopez, also from the Provincial Agriculture Office, did the hands-on mushroom production.
In addition, Wahkit Lee discussed record keeping and basic accounting.
Present during the event were OIC- Vice Mayor, Councilor Glory Jovelyn Manaois, and Councilor Jerry Aradanas, chairman, Committee on Agriculture, who gave their messages. With them were Councilors Josephine Caburnay, Noel Apolinario Bautista, Bryan Louie Balangue, Lorenzo Tambo, Bryan Gotoc, Ernesto Buquing and Ronald Biado.
Before the lectures, Ricardo Tabuac, municipal agriculturist of Binalonan, acknowledged the guests and participants. Alfredo Delos Reyes, Barangay Captain of Santiago, gave a welcome address and Alvin Ignacio, agricultural technologist, gave the overview of the activity.
The training was facilitated by the DA Binalonan personnel Alfredo Aradanas, Imelda Aradanas, Manuel Luis Jr., Freeshe Grace Estimada, Cleofe Martinez, Alvin Ignacio, and Jefferson Ferrer.
