A nurse and a surfer from Binalonan are making waves in the international scene and they make Binalonians proud!
US-based Rex Daniel Lomboy, a native of Moreno, Binalonan, and alumnus of Juan G. Macaraeg National High School, Batch 2003, obtained his Bachelor of Science in Nursing, summa cum laude, and Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from the University of Texas, where he was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Sigma International, respectively.
As a Patient Care Services Manager for Mount Sinai West Hospital in New York City, he oversees the daily operation of medical and surgical oncology and in-patient hemodialysis units with the responsibility of outcome-oriented quality measures, human resource management, fiscal management, and patient experience.
Rex, also serves as a mentor in the Mount Sinai Health System SHARP Internship Program which focuses on project management and leadership development. He also holds a Board of Director position on pediatric oncology welfare, and a Board of Advisor position at Rutgers Universityβs Customer Experience Program.
Prior to moving to New York City in 2017, Rex was the Operations Administrator at Southern California Hospital in Los Angeles, Administrative Nurse Manager at Houston Methodist in Texas Medical Center and Operations Manager at HCA-Kingwood Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
Lomboy, together with his family, emigrated to the US several years ago. His mother, Teresita D. Lomboy was a retired principal of Bugayong Elementary School.
Meanwhile, Guam-based Angel Lea Tomboc Aguilar, is representing the Philippines in the International Surfing Competition in Japan this September 5-12. Aguilar is one of the seven Filipino surfers who are contenders in the said competition.
A grandchild of Binalonan, Aguilar is the great granddaughter of the late Binalonan former Mayor Corazon Quiaoit and former Vice Mayor Don Primitivo Tomboc.
