Farmer associations and cooperatives from eleven barangays of Binalonan on October 7 received farm machineries and post-harvest facilities during the turnover ceremony held at Binalonan Municipal Hall grounds.
Binalonan Mayor Ramon N. Guico Jr., together with Vice Mayor Melicio F. Patague II and municipal councilors, turned over the machineries and equipment to the representatives of the various associations and cooperatives from the Department of Agriculture.
Mayor Guico in his message to the recipients said, βAlagaan at pagyamanin ang mga ibinigay na machineries para sainyong kaunlaran. Kung sino ang nanangailangan ng mga βmachineriesβ na iyan, ipahiram at huwag pagdamutan ang mga kasama ninyong magsasaka.β
Ricardo Tabuac, municipal agriculturist, together with the staff of DA Binalonan assisted in the awarding of the machineries and equipment.
Barangays Camangaan, Cili, Moreno, and San Felipe Central were given one unit each of walk-behind rice transplanter while Pasileng Sur, San Pablo, and Sumabnit received one unit each of four wheel drive tractor.
Mangcasuy and Vacante were given two units each of hand tractors.Moreno also received two units of multi cultivator and two units of pump and engine set.Poblacion was given 3 units of multi cultivator and Sta. Maria, one unit of multi cultivator.
Through DA Binalonan staff and with the assistance of Jay Layco, president of Binalonan Federation of Farmers Association AngGaling Inc. and vice president of PambansangMannalon, Mag-uuma, Magbabaol at MagsasakangPilipinas (P4MP) Pangasinan Chapter, the farmer associations and cooperatives were able to avail of the machineries and equipment awarded
