Thirty two rice farmers on October 23 graduated under the Local Farmer Technician-Farmerβs Field School on Sustainable Rice Production during the Field Day and Graduation Program held in Sitio Cabison, Barangay Linmansangan, Binalonan.
Before the graduation program, the guests, municipal and barangay officials, farmer technicians and personnel of DA Binalonan had a field visit at the Participatory Technology Demonstration (PTD) site.
Municipal Agriculturist Ricardo E. Tabuac, who has spearheaded many programs and projects under the DA, acknowledged the guests, visitors and farmer-cooperators and gave some updates on Local Farmer Technician Program.
In his message, Binalonan Vice Mayor Melicio Patague II, recognized the important role of the farmers in the progress of the country and their role in the society. Patague said, βYou provide food for everyone. You are the backbone of the society.β
Patague, expressed his appreciation to the organizers of the program and congratulated the farmer-graduates. He also encouraged the farmer-graduates to share the skills and good practices they have acquired from the training to the other farmers.
Supervising Municipal Agriculturist Cleofe Jacob-Martinez presented the farmer-graduates and they were confirmed graduates by Raul Sanchez of the Provincial agricultural Office.
Renato Legaspi, punong barangay of Linmansangan, and some municipal officials did theΒ distribution of certificates to the farmer-graduates .
Richard Corona, farmer-cooperator, gave his impression about the field day and the field school, while Dionisio Ponceja, chairman of the Municipal Agriculture and Fishery Council, did the closing remarks.
Elmo Baniguen and Darwin Solis, local farmer technicians, hosted the event.
