Pangasinan Fifth District Congressman Ramon V. Guico III on November 29 led in the distribution of 26 free prostheses legs and one reclining wheelchair to recipients during the Fifth District Awarding of Prostheses at the Binalonan Events Tent.
Congressman Guico, together with his wife Maan Tuazon Guico, directress of the Congressional Spouses Foundation, Inc. (CSFI) for Region I, distributed the free prostheses to the recipients who came from the six towns of the district.
Under the theme,βBagong Paa, Bagong Pag-asa Para sa Ikagiginhawa at Ikauunlad ng Pamumuhay, 14 were given above the knee prostheses, 11 were awarded below the knee prostheses, and one was provided free reclining wheelchair.
Alcala has 4 recipients, Binalonan-6, Pozorrubio-7 ,Sto. Tomas-2, Urdaneta-3, and Villasis- 4.
Congressman Guico said the project aims to strengthen his social services program. Guico also informed that his offices in Sto. Tomas and Binalonan are opened for those who are seeking for help.
Maan Tuazon Guico thanked the Office of the Representative of the Fifth District, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Down River Under Filipino and American Associations, and the MVRN Prostheses Center for their cooperation and participation.
Vice Mayor Melicio Patague II commended the project and thanked Congressman Guico and his wife for their utmost concern for their constituents.
Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Cheryll Tan of Villasis attended the awarding. She commended the noble project of the congressman and expressed her gratitude for what is being done to the constituents of the 5th district of Pangasinan.
Joefrey Cadines of PCSO Urdaneta encouraged the audience to buy their tickets by saying, βBawat pisong taya, para sa kawanggawa.β
Councilors Josephine Caburnay and Bryan Louie Balangue were also present during the awarding.
