The Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) announces the availability of the 2022 Junior Level Science Scholarships (JLSS) E-application for AY 2022-2023 under RA 7687, Merit and RA 10612 scholarship program. With the intention to provide scholarships for the REGULAR second year college enrolled in a DOST-SEI priority S&T course at identified universities in the Second Semester of AY 2021-2022.

Republic Act (RA) No. 7687 provides scholarships to talented and deserving students whose families’ socio-economic status does not exceed the set cut-off values of certain indicators. Meanwhile, Merit scholarship program is awarded to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics. On the other hand, RA 10612 aims to strengthen the country’s science and technology education by fast-tracking graduates in the sciences, mathematics and engineering who shall teach science and mathematics in secondary schools throughout the country.

Among the scholarship privileges are monthly stipend, tuition fee subsidies for those enrolled in private higher education institutions, transportation allowance, thesis allowance and group health and accident insurance.

Interested and qualified applicants are encouraged to prepare the requirements prior to filing their application at https://jlss.science-scholarships.ph where forms and other special instructions are available. Upon landing on the e-application system applicant must read all the necessary information on the homepage to avoid errors that may lead to the disqualification of the application.

The online application is from June 9, 2022 until July 31, 2022 (Sunday) with pen and paper qualifying examination set on August 27-28, 2022. Meanwhile, the announcement of the list of qualifiers will be released tentatively on November 6, 2022.
