Guico Monument
The Ramon J. Guico Marker marks the 30th death anniversary of the longest serving Mayor of the town of Binalonan from 1964 to1986. He was best remembered for his strong leadership, commitment for development, and disciplinarian attitude that transformed Binalonan from a war-ravaged town to a bustling district. During his term, Binalonan earned the title as the new “gate-way to the north”, for its award-winning plazas and gardens, and record-breaking agricultural production. The Guico marker was designed by Julie Lluch, one of the foremost and award-winning sculptors in the country known for her personalized sensuous medium. The bronze sculpture features Ramon J.Guico in his typical farming attire with his gaze stretched forward which symbolizes his love for the land.
