The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) awarded P2,484,580.00 to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Binalonan on November 24 for the implementation of the Skills Training on Micro-enterprise Development Projects of Sustainable Development Livelihood Program.
This flagship program of the DSWD aims to strengthen employment, entrepreneurial skills and micro-enterprise through various training programs especially among the marginalized and disadvantaged sectors.
Mr. Ronald Gabriel, provincial coordinator of DSWD Livelihood Program Provincial Operations officer of Pangasinan, turned-over the award to LGU officials at the Conference Hall of the Mayor’s Office.
Present were Councilor Josephine D. Caburnay, who serves as SB Chairman on Budget; Marilyn Imbat, MSWD head; Selma Cuaresma, municipal treasurer; Evangeline Acuar, senior administrative assistant III and secretary to the mayor with some DSWD workers assigned in Binalonan.
144 participants will be undergoing the skills training on the following areas: 42 for goat production and management, 50 for hog raising, 32 for Contact Center Services, NC II and 20 for Housekeeping NC II.
